Uptime and incidents

Can customers reach us?Watch your website

Uptime monitoring with a status page and on-call for small teams. A confirmed failure opens an incident and alerts whoever is on call, in Slack and by email.

Free includes 5 checks. Nothing to install.

What you get

Checks, incidents, status pages, SLA

What does it check?

Websites and APIs, SSL certificates and domain expiry, cron-job heartbeats, TCP ports, DNS and ping. Each runs from outside your cloud, so you see what a customer sees.

What happens when a check fails?

An incident opens and pages whoever is on call, in Slack and by email, up your escalation tiers until someone acknowledges. There are no phone calls or text messages in this version.

When a second vantage point is configured, a failure is confirmed there before anyone is paged; otherwise the incident says it was seen from one location.

Slack alertsEmail and webhooks

A failed check opens an incident, pages the person on call until they acknowledge, and the timeline becomes the postmortem draft.

  1. Check fails

    Seen from outside your cloud

  2. Incident opens

    With its own timeline

  3. On call acknowledges

Slack and email, up the tiers

    Waiting for an acknowledgement
  4. Postmortem draft

How do customers see an outage?

On your public status page, from Startup. SLA reports cover a rolling 90 days measured from outside, leave declared maintenance out, and alert while the error budget burns.

MarshalCloud reports what it measured. It does not promise a number.

Which plan does it start on?

Every plan, Free included, gets checks, incidents, on call and SLA reports. Higher plans run more checks, more often.

Where do alerts go?

To Slack, to email and to a webhook you own.

01What does MarshalCloud send to Slack?

Cost anomalies, budget warnings, security findings, uptime and certificate alerts, incidents and scheduled cost summaries, as messages in the channel your webhook points at. On Growth it can also post a proposed fix; with our Slack app added, that message carries Approve fix and Not now buttons.

02What does MarshalCloud send to a webhook?

One versioned JSON message per alert, describing what happened and how severe it is, with a link back to it. It is signed with a secret so your receiver can check it came from us, and posted only to an HTTPS address you own.

03Can MarshalCloud page someone by phone?

Through PagerDuty or Opsgenie, whose own schedules decide who is woken. A direct phone call or text message works only where phone paging is switched on; where it is not, adding a phone number is refused, so you are never left believing a number will ring when it cannot.
