What does MarshalCloud do with Linode?

  • Your Linode invoices, line by line, copied as billed. Linode does not tag a line with the resource it came from, so cost is per invoice item, not per server.
  • Read-only inventory: Linodes, volumes, managed databases, NodeBalancers, LKE clusters and object storage buckets, with their public IPs.

Read-only is the default everywhere. A fix is drafted, priced and explained, and then waits for a person to approve it.

What MarshalCloud never does in Linode

  • The token you connect with is read-only and is stored encrypted, never shown back, and never handed to a build.
  • The read token cannot create, change or delete anything in Linode. Fixes are a separate step: approval-gated cleanups, such as deleting an idle server after taking a snapshot or releasing an unused IP address, need a separate fix token you choose to add, a person approves each one, and none can be undone, because deleting is what stops the charge.

What it does not cover

  • No security posture checks run on Linode. That part of the console says unknown for a Linode account, never a pass.

How do you connect Linode?

  1. 01Create a read-only personal access token in Linode Cloud Manager.
  2. 02Paste it into the Linode connection in MarshalCloud. It is verified with one read before it is saved.
  3. 03The map and the spend pages fill in after the first read.

Questions about the Linode integration

01Does MarshalCloud see per-server cost on Linode?

No. Linode invoices carry a label per line but not the resource id, so cost is shown per invoice item. MarshalCloud does not guess which server a line belongs to.

02Can MarshalCloud fix things on Linode?

Only if you add a separate fix token, and only after a person approves that specific fix. The fixes on Linode clean up unused resources, such as deleting an idle server after taking a snapshot. None has an undo. Building new environments is a separate, Scaled-plan feature with its own write token.

03Which plan includes Linode?

Growth and above, the same gate as Google Cloud.
