Why did my AWS bill go up?
Usually one change: a deploy, a new service, a server left running. MarshalCloud names the service that moved and the likely cause, priced from what you were charged.
Anomaly alerts
Judged against your own normal pattern, not a fixed threshold.
Waste, priced
Idle servers, unattached disks, old snapshots, oversized servers.
From your own billing data and the provider's own pricing, never a benchmark. Anything MarshalCloud cannot price with confidence is shown as $0 at low confidence, with what would settle it.
02How does it find the cause of a cost spike?
It compares each day with your own normal pattern for that day, waits for late billing lines before it judges, and says which of three things moved: the price, the usage, or something new that did not exist before.
03What waste does it look for?
Idle servers, unattached disks and old snapshots are the usual suspects; it also prices oversized servers and databases and reads AWS's own Compute Optimizer, Cost Optimization Hub and Trusted Advisor advice. Each finding is priced from your own bill, or shown at $0 with low confidence when the bill cannot prove it.
04What happens when a budget is exceeded?
MarshalCloud alerts, and on Growth and above it can propose pausing non-production servers. The proposal waits for a person to approve it. There is no setting that lets it run on its own.
